The Story of Kōri Circle

A tattooed founder wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, and a black apron over a black shirt grills meat on an outdoor barbecue grill with smoke rising in a warm, golden outdoor setting.

It All Started Around a Table

Kōri Circle did not start in an office. It started at a table right here in Sydney, Australia.

A few close friends. A good steak. A drink in hand.

My name is Mark Ocko (founder) and I had an idea. I wanted to build a tight community.

A circle for men who like steak, BBQ, friends, and good nights at home.

Men of standards who appreciate good craftsmanship and are proud to own quality knives.

A person with tattooed arms slices a piece of cooked steak on a wooden cutting board in a dimly lit restaurant or bar setting. A glass of amber drink and small bowls sit nearby on a dark marble countertop.

A Good Steak Needs a Good Knife

Every man who hosts knows this moment.

The steak is ready. Everyone is watching. You pick up the knife. You make the first cut. The steak - perfectly cooked. It is a special moment.

If you care about the steak, the fire, and the people around you, the knife should matter too.

Not a cheap knife from the drawer. A proper knife. One that feels good in your hand. One you are proud to use.

Two men in a blacksmith workshop, one wearing a yellow shirt and brown apron holding tongs over a piece of heated metal, and the other in a light blue work shirt observing closely.

Made With Partners We Trust

Kōri is not a big kitchen company selling hundreds of tools.

We are a brand that creates pieces that are meant to be seen, held, used, and remembered.

We source our knives from only the experienced bladesmiths from provinces in south east asia like Yangjiang with over 1000 years of knife and sword making heritage.

Our knives are made from quality VG10 Japanese steel. Each knife is special so crafting takes time. That's the reason why we only sell limited units.

A group of people collaborating around a long wooden conference table in a modern office with large windows, laptops, and coffee cups.

A Dedicated Team, One Vision

We are a small international team from 11 countries.

Multiple crafts from designers, bladesmiths, mechanical engineers to customer service and marketing specialists -  all working together to bring our Kōri vision alive and bring you the blade you deserve.

Our focus is simple: create pieces that you are proud to own and enjoy when friends are around.

Welcome to the Kōri Circle!
